WAGs FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE RULES
I. General
1. The W=
FFL
exists solely for entertainment purposes.&=
nbsp;
The purpose of the WFFL is to enhance the enjoyment of NFL games.
2. WFFL = game outcomes are based on the actions of real NFL games and players. As a WFFL franchise owner, general manager and coach, you will draft a team, set a starting lineup, and make free-agent acquisitions. Your team’s success will depend on the NFL scoring of the players you select. If your team’s starting players score during their NFL games, your team also scores.
1. A sea= son consists of a 14-week schedule (NFL regular-season weeks 1 through 14) and 2 weeks of playoffs (NFL regular-season weeks 15 through 16 with week 16 dete= rmining the WFFL Champion).
2. All t= imes specified for league rules are for Central Standard Time.
The league will consist of one conference. Schedules will consist of 14 regul= ar season games and two playoff rounds with the championship game occurring du= ring the NFL's 16th week.
1. Each = team will have at least 19 active players each week. Active players will have a minimum = of the following: 2 Quarterbacks (QB), 3 Running Backs (RB), 3 Wide Receivers (WR)= , 2 Tight Ends (TE), 2 Place Kickers (PK), 2 Defensive Lineman (DL), 3 Lineback= ers (LB), and 2 Defensive Backs (DB). Any additional players can be made up of = any position.
2. You m= ust start the following each week: 1-QB, 2-RB, 2-WR, 1-TE, 1-PK, 1-DL, 2-LB, and 1-DB.
3. After= draft day you may purchase more players from the free agency pool, but your roste= r may not exceed 26 players and you are only allowed one free agent pick up per week. Once you exceed that nu= mber, you must tell the commissioner which player(s) you are putting back into the free agency pool.
4. Pleas= e watch your roster. If your team ros= ter goes over the 26-player limit (by free agent/injury replacement pick up) the transaction will NOT be processed until the commissioner is notified as to which player(s) you wish to drop. It is your responsibility to maintain your roster at all times and notify the commissioner of all requested changes. The commissioner (or his represent= ative) is the only person authorized to replace a player.
1. Befor= e the draft, owners will be able to designate one player on their roster from the previous year as a "franchise" player. As is basically the case in the NF= L, a franchise designation reserves the player for that team for the next season. Only players not desi= gnated as a franchise player may be drafted. = Deadline for designating a franchise player is one week prior to "Draft Day".
2. A lis= t of all players that are designated as franchise players will be made available to = all league owners one week before draft day.
3. If yo=
u decide
to keep a franchise player, then you will forfeit your first round pick.
1. The p= layoffs will help determine the order of the draft for the following year.
2. The S= uperbowl winner will draft 10th, the runner-up will draft 9th, the 3rd place finishe= r in the playoffs will draft 8th, the 4th place finisher in the playo= ffs will draft 7th. The rest of the draft will be based= on how the rest of the teams finished during the regular season. Whoever finished 5th in the regular season will draft 6th, whoever finished in 6th place in the regular season = will draft 5th and so on.
1. Any p= layer not currently on an owner’s league roster is a free agent.
2. Each = team may pick up one extra Free Agent on draft day.= To determine who gets an extra player, the commissioner will hold an auction after the draft has been concluded. The minimum price to pick up a free agent is $7. If you pick up a= free agent on Draft Day, this will be your free agent pick up for week 1.
3. After draft day, if you want a free
agent and you did not purchase one on draft day, you must call or e-mail the
commissioner and let him know whom you would like. If you do not pick up a free
agent on draft day, then you will have to wait until the Wednesday/Friday
before the season starts to pick up a free agent. The deadline for free =
agents
will be No Later Than (NLT) 7pm Central Standard Time (CST) on Friday for
Saturday/Sunday games. However, if you wish to pick up a f=
ree
agent/injury replacement that will be playing in a Thursday game, then the
deadline to pick up that player will be NLT 7pm CST on Wednesday. If you picked up an injury replace=
ment
for the Thursday game, you are still allowed to pick up more injury
replacements and/or a free agent on Friday. If you picked up a free agent for =
the
Thursday game, you are still allowed to pick up injury replacements on Frid=
ay.
4. If mo= re than one team wants the same player, then the team with the worst record will get that player. If both teams ha= ve the same record, then the team with less total points will get that player. If it is on the first week and not= on draft night, we will use the draft order to determine who gets first choice= on that player.
5. Coach= es replacing an injured player will have first choice before a coach who wants= to pick up a free agent. If a co= ach has more than one injured player, he must choose which player he wants to replace first. To keep the le= ague competitive, every other coach with an injured player will get to replace t= heir injured player before the coach with two injured players gets to replace his second injured player. All in= jury replacement requests will be processed before any free agent acquisitions are processed= .
6. All free agen=
ts will
be assigned to a team after 7pm CST on Friday or 7pm CST on Wednesday,
whichever applies. If you hav=
e a
player playing in the Thursday night game (or any other game before Sunday)=
you
must turn in your players that are playing in those games prior to the star=
t of
those games. The rest of your
lineup will be due prior to the start of the Sunday game, which is usually
12:00 noon CST. In the case of an earlier start time; your lineup must be
submitted prior to the scheduled kick-off time of each player in a earlier =
than
Sunday game. You can submit a full line up and change players (except the o=
nes
that have played) before noon on Sunday.&n=
bsp;
If it is not received by the correct deadline, then your lineup from=
the
previous week will be used. If for some reason you didn’t submit a li=
neup
on time and you had players play in a game other than on Sunday, they will =
not
be automatically selected. This will be an unfair advantage to your opponen=
t.
Example:
a.
You did not summit a lineup on Sunday.
b.
Your last week lineup TE played on Thursday and received 11 points.
c.
You cannot use that TE because you already know the outcome of his score, g=
ood
or bad – disadvantage!
d.
Your next TE with the highest total score for the year will be used for that
week.
e.
If your next TE is on a bye or you don’t have a qualified TE, then you
will have a blank in the TE position.
(Note: Sorry to =
be so
strict, but it would be a disadvantage to your opponent for you to play or =
not
play someone you already know the outcome of their score.)
7. Anyti= me after draft day, if a coach wants to pick up another player, there will be a $7 f= ee for the free agent and a $3 fee for Injury replacement for each and every player that you pick up. Reme= mber that only one free agent pick up per week is allowed.
8. Once = you have acquired a free agent, he will be immediately placed on your roster. If it = is an injury replacement, he can only replace the same type of a position.
9. Due to numerous/unreliable errors in the injury reports and unforeseen injuries, t= he following rule has been implemented.
a. When there is a Thursday/Friday/Saturday game, you do not have to submit a lineup, but you must tell the commissioner whom you will be using for those games.
b. If you have submitted lineup/players to start for a Thursday/Friday/Saturday game, you may make changes to your lineup for Sunday's games as long as it = has no bearing on any player in the previous games. If you do not have any players in previous games, then you will submit a roster by the normal rules.
10. If you have a player that gets inj=
ured
in a Thursday game, you will not be allowed to pick up an injury replacement
for him until the following week.
The reason for this rule is that your player's status has no impact =
on
Sunday's games and another coach might get a player injured on Sunday that =
is
in the same category as yours. If
you were allowed to pick up a replacement on Friday, then you would get an
unfair advantage over the other coaches.
11. Durin= g the playoffs, all injury replacements/free agents pick ups for the playoff teams will be processed before any roster moves of the teams participating in the Toilet Bowl. Since the playoff teams are fighting to win the Superbowl and the money that goes along with that, it is only fair that they get first choice before any of the Toilet B= owl teams. Also, for the fi= rst week of the playoffs, the order for injury replacement/free agents pick ups= of the playoff teams will be in the reverse order of their seeding. Example, the fourth seed will get = first choice on any free agent/injury replacement pick up.
1. On dr= aft day – if you draft a player or pick up a free agent that is injured, you = will not be allowed to purchase an injury replacement player for him until he has played in a game. If your inj= ured player goes on a physically-unable-to-perform (PUP) list, then you can pick= up an injury replacement, but you have to wait until week one game(s) are officially over. You will be able to pick up an injury replacement during w= eek two of the season. If the player goes on Injured Reserve (IR) list, you can pick up an injury replacement for him during week two of the season, but you have to drop the IR player. I= f you are replacing an injured roster player, you are allowed to replace as many = as needed. If you pick up an INJURED free agent player, you will not be allowe= d to pick up an injury replacement player for him until he has played in at least one game.
2. Also =
on draft
day – if you have a player who gets hurt after draft day but before t=
he
season starts, you can replace him free of charge, but you must drop him off
your roster. If you want to k=
eep
the injured player, you may pick up an injury replacement for him using the
rules in Section
3. Final authority for injuries will be the web site that has the most current information on injuries. The following web sites will be checked in the following order: CBSSports.com, then NFL.COM then ESPN.COM or USA Today.COM. For example, if the last update on CBSSports.com was on Thursday and NFL.COM was updated on Friday, then NFL.COM will be the web site that will be used to determine injury status. If a= ll the web sites were all updated on the same day, then CBSSports.com will be used= to determine injury status since it is the first web site listed.
4. The commissioner will look at the injury reports from the above resources at the deadline time to determine the injury status of a player. If a coach does not agree with the commissioner's decision, then the commissioner will confer with the assista= nt commissioner to determine the injury status of the player in question. Their joint decision will be final= and will not be subject to question.
5. The commissioner will use several different injury reports to determine if they= are an injured player, e.g. probable/targeted to play/expected to play =3D not injured, doubtful/questionable/inactive/cut =3D injured. A suspended player does not equal = an INJURED player.
6. If yo= u have picked up an injury replacement for an injured player on your roster, you cannot pick up another player using the same injured player at anytime duri= ng the year.
7. If you have a player who gets inju= red and is only listed as questionable or doubtful and the next week is a bye w= eek for that player, then you may not pick up an injury replacement for that pl= ayer since he may not be injured when his next game is actually played.
8. If you have a player who has been injured and is definitely out for the year or for an extended period of tim= e, then you may pick up an injury replacement for him even though his team may= be on a bye week.
INJURY REPLACEMENT Definition: When picking up an injury replacem= ent, this means it has to be the same position, i.e. if you have a wide receiver= who gets hurt, you can only pick up another wide receiver for him. You can not = pick up a different position player for the injured player.
1. We us= e a combo of basic & performance-scoring methods geared at getting the maxi= mum from each player. Ties are allowed.
2. If you feel y=
our
score may be incorrect, please challenge it. You have until 10pm CST on Tue=
sday
to challenge the score of your team or the score of your opponent. It is up to each coach to challenge=
the
results of their weekly scores. After
this time has elapsed, the scores are final. Our league must have a cutoff due =
to
free agency/injury replacement picks are done during the week according to
ranking of the team. Final
authority will be FANSTAR for offensive statistics for offensive players and
defensive statistics for defensive players. FanStar gets all their stats
from Elias Sports Bureau, who puts out the official box score for each game=
. NFL.COM will be the alternate sourc=
e for
any touchdowns or two point plays scored by defensive players while on
offense. We will use FANSTAR =
for
all defensive statistics especially since tackles are not an official stati=
stic
that is kept by NFL.COM. Here=
is
what it says on NFL.COM about tackles:&nbs=
p;
"* Tackles are not an official NFL statistic. Team’s reco=
rd
tackles individually. Because of differences in standards, discrepancies may
arise when comparing tackles from player to player or team to team."
The following se=
ntence
is the only time NFL.COM will come into play on scoring.
Check NFL.C=
OM for
defensive touchdowns and two point conversions.
All other stats =
will come
from FANSTAR.
3. All Touchdowns: 6 points, Passing Touchdown =3D 4 points (in other words, whoev= er throws a touchdown will receive 4 points, which is usually a quarterback.)<= /p>
4. Perfo= rmance Scoring: .1 point for every 1 = yard rushing and for every 1 yard receiving and .05 for every 1 yard passing. In = other words, if your player has 17 yards rushing and 8 yards receiving him would = get 2.5 points total.
5. Defensive Scoring: Only defensive players will get points for tackles, assisted tackles, sacks, fumble recove= ries, passes defense or interception points. No points will be awarded for special team play except for any touchdowns that might be scored.
a. 1 point per tackle
b. 4 points per sack (3 points for sa= ck plus 1 point for tackle), 2 points for ½ a sack (1 ½ points f= or ½ sack and 1/2 point for assisted tackle)
c. 4 points per fumble recovery
d. 6 points per interception (5 point= s for interception plus 1 point for pass deflection/defended)
e. ½ point per assisted tackle=
f. 1 point per pass deflection/defend= ed
6. Safety points
a. 2 points per safety (if only one p= layer gets credit)
b. 1 point per safety (if numerous pl= ayers get credit)
c. The safety must show up on the sco= ring page of NFL.COM before you are credited.
7. PK Scoring
a. 1 point =3D PAT
b. 3 points =3D 0 - 29 yds
c. 4 points =3D 30 - 39 yds
d. 5 points =3D 40 - 49 yds
e. 6 points =3D 50 – 59 yds
f. 7 points =3D 60 – 99 yds
8. 2 pt Conversion
A 2pt per action per player for rushing or receiving t= he ball will be added. Basically, whoever scores the conversion gets the points. Whoever throws a 2pt Conversion wi= ll receive 1 point.
9. If yo= u have a defensive player that plays on both sides, the following applies:
Example: Deion Sanders – if you start him as a D= B you will get all of his defensive points but you will only get his touchdowns on offense if he makes one. You = will not be credited for any yardage performance on offense. This would not be fair because the= n you would have 3 wide receivers in the game and would constitute an illegal pla= yer.
10. All points will be given to any and all positions according to the rules above. If any offensive player plays on defense, then the only points that will be awarded will be any touchdowns he scores. He w= ill not be credited for any tackles, fumble recoveries, sacks, or interceptions= . No offensive players playing on offense will get credit for any tackles.
1. The top
4 teams with the best records will play each other in week 15 and 16. If there are teams that are tied a=
t the
end of the season, each place will be determined by the total points of each
team for the whole season. If two teams are tied =
for a
playoff spot with the same record and the same total number of points score=
d,
then the tiebreaker will be the results of the head to head competition.
2. The 1= st place team will play 4th place team and 2nd place team will play 3rd place team in week 15. The losers in the fi= rst playoff week will be 3rd/4th and will play each other in week 16 for 3rd and 4th place. The winners in the= first playoff week will play each other in week 16 in the WFFL SUPERBOWL. If there are any ties during the Superbowl playoff week, the tie breakers will be as follows: Player’s score starting with the starting quarterback of that game, if still tied th= en it goes to the total of the running backs, then wide receivers, etc.
3. The l= ast six teams will also have a playoff, which is called the Toilet Bowl and $15 per team will make up the prize fund. The rules for this playoff will be simple: The total points of the t= wo games will determine the prize money. The money will be divided up by how you place.
4. If th= ere is a tie in the Toilet Bowl playoffs, the tie breakers will be as follows: Player’s score starting with the total points of the starting quarterbacks in those 2 games, if still tied then it goes to the total of t= he running backs, then wide receivers, etc.
Each and every week (usually NLT 9pm Tuesday Night) my= web page will be updated to show all the stats and records.
1. A tot= al of $125 will be charged to each team to play in this league. Prize money will be distributed as follows:
2. Commi= ssioner Fee: $14.00 per team. This mo= ney will be used to buy the fantasy program ($79 each year), managing the league and miscellaneous supplies needed to run the league. The extra money for miscellaneous supplies (books, paper, etc.) and time spent managing the league was approv= ed by the league.
3. The T=
otal of
all the Prize Funds will be the total number of teams multiplied by $111. This money will be split among the
following prize funds:
4. End of regular season prize fund w= ill consist of $20 from each team.
a. 1st place will receive 50% of the proceeds =3D $100
b. 2nd place will receive 25% of the proceeds =3D $50
c. 3rd place will receive 15% of the proceeds =3D 30
d. 4th place will receive 10% of the proceeds =3D 20
5. Playoffs prize fund will = consist of $20 from each team and any free agent purchases.
a. 1st place (Superbowl Champion) will receive $100 and 35% of the free agent fees
b. 2nd place will receive $50 and 30%= of the free agent fees
c. 3rd place will receive $30 and 20%= of the free agent fees
d. 4th place will receive $20 and 15%= of the free agent fees
6. Toilet Bowl prize fund will consis= t of $15 per team ($150).
a. 1st place will receive $60
b. 2nd place will receive $33
c. 3rd place will receive $23
d. 4th place will receive $15
e. 5th place will receive $12
f. 6th place will receive $7
7. Weekly prize fund will be the rema= inder of $56 per team, which equals to $560.
8. There will be a weekly prize of $10 given to the winner of each category below for regular season only:
a. The coach with the highest quarter= back total points.
b. The coach with the highest running= back total points.
c. The coach with the highest wide re= ceiver or tight end total points.
d. The coach with the highest defensi= ve player total points.
9. If th= ere is a tie for the weekly prize, the money will be distributed equally among the winning coaches.
10. Any and all rules not covered in WFFL rules, which= come up during the season, will be ruled by the commissioner. His ruling will be final.
